Phoenix in Watercolor

This Phoenix is so cool because most of the work is done using masking fluid! So once you have drawn all those bits out you can paint away without worrying about the wee details. Any small mishaps and extra details are tidied up using a white gel pen and there you have it! (along with a wee bit of colored pencil details too)
For this lesson I used:
- Watercolor paper 300gsm (I used Bockingford paper but just use whatever you have)
- Kuretake watercolor paints (any watercolors in lovely reds, yellows and oranges will do)
- Masking fluid (mine is Winsor & Newton but any make will do)
- Colo-erase pencil in red
- White gel pen
- Prismacolors in any reds. oranges plus a black
- Black fineliner pen
- Gold watercolor (I used White Nights Inca Gold)
I will give you my image below as we are just tracing rather than drawing this project! This makes it super quick and easy, so we do not have to worry about getting the shapes of the feathers etc correct we can just have a fun painty time!
